The Evolution of Jeans
Trends come and go all the time, but there is one thing that has been a staple in our closets for as long as we can remember - skinny jeans! You can dress them up or dress them down, your pair of skinny jeans is like your knight in shining armor; totally reliable and always there to save you from a fashion disaster.
And while skinny jeans have proven to be more than just a fad and will definitely be staying in our closets for years to come, there are so many new trends in denim that one must try! Over the past year, due to being stuck in our homes all day long, we've grown accustomed to wearing softer and lighter bottom wear like pajamas, leggings, and sweatpants. With the world slowly (and finally!) coming back into its normal routine and with us having to go outdoors again, we expect the same level of comfort that we got from our pajamas, from our jeans.
Skinny jeans are the OG and such an easy piece to build an outfit on, but with the scorching heat that is fast approaching, skinny jeans can become unbearable at times. There are so many new cuts and fits that are trending worldwide in denim that have yet to be truly welcomed by Pakistanis.
This 90’s inspired jean is one of the biggest trends this year! The high-waisted belt and slim-cut jeans are super flattering and the small flare at the bottom is just enough to add an edge to your outfit. More than that, it's super easy to style and breezy enough for the hot summers.
Another trend from the 90’s that is making a comeback. These denim jeans have a relaxed silhouette and are a step up from the classic ‘mom jeans’. They are so comfortable, that you can even wear them at home!
Last but not the least, the pair that is replacing skinny jeans as a staple in our closets; straight-leg jeans. As the fashion editor and blogger of ‘Frugality’, Alexandra Stedman says; 'As I get older, it's not about showing off skinny legs, or figure-hugging clothing – feeling comfortable in my clothes and in myself is more important.’ Straight-leg jeans are just as easy to style as skinny jeans but with added comfort and a trendier look!
